Hookman

By Lauren Yee

My Concept: Lexi is in denial of what she did. Even though she is being haunted by her own guilt, which takes the form of the Hookman, she still cannot see the truth. The story is told through Lexi's mind, so I want the audience to not trust what they see because a lot of it isn't real. The plastic masks are meant to distort the actors faces, yet they are see-through to show it is all fake. The hooks are see-through showing the hand inside because they are not real. As the play progresses, more and more of what Lexi witnesses is distorted by her own delusions.
