I aimed to visually depict Artemisia’s profound impact on her surroundings, utilizing paint strokes on select costume pieces to convey her influence. In portraying Prudencia Madre, her deceased mother, I used paint to signify her ethereal presence, illustrating Artemisia's perception of her. This motif recurred with the passing of her father, Orazio. Furthermore, I employed paint to symbolize Artemisia's affection for Francesco and the transformative effect she had on his life once they fell in love. Additionally, I depicted Artemisia's anguish after the assault through paint, accentuating the profound impact of the experience with bold black splotches on her dress, symbolizing the residue of the assailant's filthy touch.
